Re: Cranking PW question

Thanks for the reply, I have looked closer and the output number makes more sense.

Cranking PW question

I need some clarification on the cranking pulse width. What parameters effect the pulse width while you are in cranking mode? I have my cranking RPM set, and that shows up correct in the MLV ( it shows in cranking mode up to the correct rpm point). As far as the pulse width, I have my cranking PW fo...

Re: Battery voltage compensation = Lesson Learned

Does anybody know if low Z injectors tend to be higher or lower for voltage compensation, or is there no correlation between the type of injectors?

Re: Battery voltage compensation = Lesson Learned

Thanks, can you tell me what injector you are running? (Hi/Low Z, #/hr, style, etc.)

How did you determine that the compensation was 0.9?

Re: Blended SD/Alpha-N.... should i do it?

If you search the threads for the synchromap topic you will find many posts on the problem with ITBs and a circuit that can be built to reduce them. There is also measured data from Bruce and others to back up the improvement that might be expected with this circuit. Thanks for the tip. Some things...

Re: Blended SD/Alpha-N.... should i do it?

Yes, 8 throttle plates. i do not think i will go with straight alpha-N as if i were going to do that i would have just stuck with a mechanical injection, alpha N is just a mechanical setup with electronic injectors in function. There has to be a way to make it work with SD as kinsler and others make...

Blended SD/Alpha-N.... should i do it?

I need some feedback from some of you guys with tuning experience. I have a 406 SBC in my dragster with an pretty agressive cam. I am worried that it may be difficult to get it to idle with a SD control algorithm. Drag race only application, running on methanol, 120 lb/hr low Z injectors. This engin...

MS2 wire gauge sizes

From reading the website, my understanding is that I use 18-20 gauge wires for everything going into the DB 37 pigtail when I make it. Is this correct? Is there a good reason to go to 18 ga, or is using a hi quality 20ga wire good enough? Also, what is the best way to combine wires? For example, if ...

Re: Racepak Data systems

Thanks for the info
I have looked into the palm log, I am sure it works good, I would just need to find the right palm to do the job. it looks like the older versions what you need.

Re: Racepak Data systems

Thats a good question.......... well, the cockpit of my car is 23 inches wide, wheelbase is 225" long with no suspension, and shakes hard when it does a burnout....... I guess i could mount it to the top of the cage??? I know, it seems silly to run a MS with a hi $$ datalogger, but what else do...

Is anybody using the racepack dashes or boxes to datalog with the Megasquirt II ? Just wondering if there is any compatiblily problems etc. Seems like a nice way to go if I can afford it :P

I assumed that it would be no problem as i have seen this done many times, it is the same principal just done in reverse, but i did not know if threre was anything different that I would need to do. Thanks

Hmmmmm......... how does it do a better job at maintaining a constant pressure drop when vac referenced as opposed to not vac referenced?? :?

Fuel pressure regulator, vacuum reference or not??

I see that most fuel pressure regulators are vac/boost referenced, but some are not. I know that you can get more range out of the injectors if you vary the pressure, but if i plan to have a drag race (bracket race) specific application where consistency is important, will this just be adding a vari...

Fuel supply layout question

I am working on a MS setup for a V8. My application is a little different from standard: 1.) It will be run on a mechanical pump on the front of the engine 2.) the gas tank will be in front of the engine So, my thoughts are to have the fuel flow out of the pump (on the front of the engine), split on...

Fuel rail plumbing radius

I am designing my EFI system and am making my fuel lines from stainless. I would like to know what the minimum bend radius is (how tight they can be bent) before you start running into significant cavitation problems in the fuel system. This is a V8 with a fuel rail on each side of the intake that w...

Cougar69,
Did you determine why the idle is so high?
