Hi Peter, In responce to your query regarding dataloging. I have paid for MegaLogViewer but have some issues reading any of the data from MegaTune. I have asked for help on another thread. Re: Low RPM Low advance Ignition misfires

Check distributor phasing. Make sure at ~ 25 degrees bTDC that rotor points to either the cap post of plug 1 or whatever the 3rd cylinder in your firing order.

You must satisfy the phasing condition before adjusting trigger angle

Re: Digi-Key backorder substitutions

not to hijack your thread, but on a similar note, is there another fet driver that I can substitute for the IXDI404PI FET driver or the MC34151PG?? the electronics stores here in montreal are a lot on the stupid side, having nothing in stock and expecting me to order chips in the hundreds from the ...

Re: EDIS Wire ends

I am a little concerned with the picture in that link. The ends don't look right to me. Incl. Socket And HEI Spark Plug Top Distributor Caps - Multi-Angle Boots / Terminals; The above description says HEI which definitely will not work with the Ford EDIS coil packs...... I had a TERRIBLE time findi...

Re: EDIS Wire ends

We used a Ford coil on the Vtec Mini. I can't recall where Mike got the ends but I think someone at NAPA ordered them for him
He made the wires right on the car

If you are interested, I can check on the part #

Are you using the digital timing light in 2-stroke or 4-stroke mode?
I don't recall if it had a choice. This last one was a distributor based car so I didn't think I had to use 2 stoke mode.

Re: where are MS tuners located?

Thanks for help. I am familiar with Abacus. I'll contact. I don't know if they would do the install - the last MS customer that had they referred to tuning to me and we did it there. They have more experience now and of course they are a class company to deal with. I can probably handle initial ins...

Timing light - dumber is better.

I know all of you know not to use adjustable or smart timing light on wasted spark applications, but how about dizzy cars? Last Saturday I was using customer's MAC Tools timing light on distributor setup and got a lot of timing scatter at 3000 rpm. Lately I've started bringing my dumb Craftsman timi...

Re: Shielded wiring questions

Appreciate the input guys. FWIW, I already had a length of nice 2-conductor 20AWG braided shield wire I'm going to use. But - I noted (before I found what I already had!) this is very difficult to find, let alone in less than 100ft. coils. But - I did come across a great source that may help someon...

IIRC, it's done that way in the Ford harness. Just another data point.

i've bought a 30W iron , and a 70/30 0.8mm wire with built in flux , is this items are right or do i need to change any thanx in advance If it's 70% tin, you'll probably have trouble using it with a non-temperature controlled iron. If the flux is anything but rosin, you may have trouble with corros...

another query about factory setup: why do you suppose the ground for the 'aux air valve' goes from the valve, through the harness, through firewall, into pin 34, through board trace to other grounds 16,17,35, back through harness and firewall, and then ground at intake? why not just ground from the...

Wiring question: i don't see any fuses going to the injectors? big red wire going to terminal 88z at combo relay comes directly from starter, and through relay to terminals 88b & 88e which seem to go directly to injectors. why wouldn't factory have injectors fused? looks like ign power going to...
