Re: 4V 1000CFM Universal Throttle bodies - opinions

I think that by the time you strip all the choke stuff and venturi booster rings out of a 750 Holley, you'll have more CFM than 750. Billk

Re: MSD Blaster II coil very hot

I just got back from about an hour running. Its hot here, over 100 degrees. I have had trouble with it running rough. I tried raising the dwell from 2.7 to 2.9 to see if it would smooth out. No. When I got home I checked the coil temp with an IR gun and got 184 degrees. It is pretty hot under the ...

Re: MSD Blaster II coil very hot

Not only was the coil getting hot, but also the heatsink side of the MS was too hot to touch. I'm afraid that I'm going to burn something out. Thanks for the reply. When I added the resistor both the coil and the MS got cooler. Billk

MSD Blaster II coil very hot

I have an MSII V3 unit and I was running a Summit clone of the MSD 6 Box. MSD Blaster II coil. The coil has 1.1 ohms resistance. The generally suggested dwell setting is 25.5 ms. It usually ran OK but for a number of reasons, I pulled the MSD style stuff and went to a straight trigger from the MS. I ...

Re: IAC making the afr go way lean

I can't load the datalog because it is too large. Is there a way to cut back the datalog size by chopping off some of the early or late parts? Billk

IAC making the afr go way lean

I am haveing a problem with the afr going very lean while driving. I have the EGO correction off and am trying to tune. What happens is that the motor will start running rough and cutting out. The afr goes very lean and I see that the PW goes up a lot. I was looking at a datalog and saw that when ...

Re: noise and connection drop-out

This link says to use TS 1.17 with BT. My TS is at 1.004 and the check updates says there are none.

Is there a suggested place to get the TS 1.17? Thanks Bill

I have tried the db9 to usb adapter without the usb cable and it hooked up OK. I need ...

noise and connection drop-out

I some questions with my MSII version 3 unit.

I am running a Chevy TBI with a Mopar locked electronic distributor. I have taylor spiral wires. I have, as best I can, kept the wire harnesses away from the spark plug wires.

I have what I think is a lot of noise in the system. See the short MLV ...

Re: stalls when i turn my headlights on

The starting problem might be the lack of the IAC. On my Megasquirt, I set the cranking IAC position. After it starts it runs with a startup IAC position for a set (short) length of time, then it goes to the IAC coolant temp table to reposition the IAC. With this setup its a "no foot on the gas ...

Re: stalls when i turn my headlights on

Per the megamanual, I adjusted the VE table until I got the lowest MAP reading at idle. Was easy and worked well. You just need to find what the motor likes best. Billk

Re: Mounting The ECU.

For my relay board I bought a cover from DIY and cut 3 square holes in it for the relays to fit through. Not perfect but better, and keeps the big chunks off the board. Billk

My '56 Desoto motor is happiest at about 13.5 AFR at idle. Billk

Re: weird ve numbers after intake swap

If you went from 18 to 13 vacuum reading, you have a vacuum leak or a hose off somewhere. The low vacuum will cause the MS to richen the mix. Billk

Re: Fuel pump leak?

You're dealing with an internal style pump that is supposed to run surrounded by fuel for cooling. You hafe the fuel pressure popoff dumping in air. This is on a motorcycle with lots of hot exhaust pipes all over. This sounds like a fireball in the making. Get rid of this thing and get the proper ...

Re: Warm up AFR

Yes, my motor idles smoothly at 13.5 when warm. It will still idle smooth at 13 warm, but I thing that it is unnecessary to run idle so rich. I think it starts out quite rich like yours then gets to 12 or so then leaner up to 13.5 I have tried to lean out the warm idle afr and my motor doesn't like ...

Re: Warm up AFR

try going into the warmup wizard and lowering the enrichment numbers. Seems rich to me. You can watch the afr numbers as you adjust and pay attention to the way the motor runs. Mine likes to idle smoothest at about 13.5, warmed up. Each engine is going to be different. Billk

Re: Mopar distributor and MSD box

I think I should get a prize for doing everything wrong the first time and usually wrong the second time too.

After saving the changes from rising edge to falling edge I shut the motor down and thought I had done the right thing. When I went to restart the motor, it ran really bad. It dawned on me ...

I am trying to install TS on a new computer. I have paid for the full version and like it. I install the basic version on the new computer. Then go try to do the registration thing. I fill in all the blocks including the registration key, but it says I have keyed in wrong info. Is there a way to get ...
