Re: TPI Whistle/Vac Leak Maybe "bomb dropping sound"

Hello 66fb,

Yes, I've stood there in the cold and mud waiting waiting... no whistle. Get in the Jeep and then there we go! It has stopped now that it has warmed up but I thought I would ask and see if anyone else had this going on. I do have the coolant lines removed from the TPI throttle body and ...

TPI Whistle/Vac Leak Maybe "bomb dropping sound"

I wish I had a recording of this but... About 3 or 4 minutes after a cold start (-20 to -10 C) at low rpm (maybe higher but the Jeep is too noisy) a high pitched whistle that slowly lowers in pitch then disappears after 10 seconds. It only does it when it is cold out.

Maybe this should be in the ...

Re: Accel Enrichment randomly triggering- any speed/load

Thank you Lance,

Would/could this be a sign that my 20 year old TPS could be getting due for replacing? I'm in a bigger center today where there are parts stores.

Accel Enrichment randomly triggering- any speed/load

Hello Everyone.

I've been noticing uneven idle/warmup for a couple of months... yeah yeah- I hear what you're thinking ;-) but the vehicle after being warmed up runs very well and I've been too busy to look at a "small" problem.

MS2b, TPI, 8 pin hei 350 I'm digging around for the code version ...

Oh, this is terrific. Thanks for showing me this. I'm talking about Megasquirting my toothbrush now and the other guys are half shaking their heads and half envious! :)

What % reduction to VE bin for leaner cruise?

Well. I'm tired of having to go to the gas station so often and getting a larger fuel tank is not yet planned!

I've been using MegaLogViewer with a narrow band sensor and my tpi'ed 350 is running well. I'm getting about 10 to 12 mpg and figure that 16 or 18 should be doable. My driving habits give ...

Re: 283 TPI Fuel Map

I'm replacing a stock GM ECM with a MS-II on tuned port injected 283 Chevy. The TPI system is all stock including the ECM, harness, HEI (7 pin), injectors, sensors, manifold, runners, etc. The whole mess runs decent but is too much hassle to tune, hence the shift to MS.

Does anybody out there have ...

Re: IAC, dosn't close from cold start.

Jim
It's currently at 2.0. If the IAC continues to work correctly, I'll most likely leave it there.

Bill

Hi Bill,

I was at 5 msec and have just peeled it back to 4. I'm paranoid of burning out those little coils... Knowing yours is working at 2 gives me incentive to keep whittling it down. My ...

Yes, I'm at 10 with better results, too. What are you running for "Time step Size msec" ?

Re: Anyone using xtau on a tpi'ed 350?

Thank you for the advice, Al.

My engine stalls after running for 10 seconds or so. I have been changing the IAC steps but hadn't considered changing the enrichment at a given coolant temp. I had just turned the xtau off after not finding that the default setup didn't seem to make any useful ...

Anyone using xtau on a tpi'ed 350?

I wondering if my stalling at cold start could be cured by using the xtau options?

Is anyone here using it on their chevy 350?

I'm using a lumpyish cam in my 350, stock 350 injectors, ms2 2.88, contolled iac (mostly working I think :)

Thanks, Jim

Thanks for the info. I'll increase the min step to 10... I think I've got it at 5 or 8. Regards, Jim :)

Re: IAC, dosn't close from cold start.

I've been at the same place as you with my IAC for my 350 tpi setup. I have purchased a new IAC (used one was seized) that cannot be turned by hand and am using "on for 15 min...". I've had most luck with 300 steps with most starts "normal" now...

I also have set "Fuel Setup > Idle Control" the ...
