Re: GM stepper IAC / Idle speed too high

bt75,

When first powered up, the IAC should retract, then extend. So you might have it wired backwwards. There info on how to correct that here: http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/IAC.htm#wiring

Lance.

I just checked the wiring, according to the picture

GM stepper IAC / Idle speed too high

Just want to verifiy that I have my IAC working correctly. My idle speed is way too high, about 1400 rpm.
When I power up my MS II, the pintel extends, stops, then backs itself in about 1/2 way.

Great service. Kit took a bit to get here, but thats canada customs for ya.

Everything was in neat little bags, labled with part, #, and component #.

Made putting it together a breeze.

Pontiac V8 distributor

I just ordered my ms II system, and am wondering which distributor would work for a Pontiac 350 V8.

The only computer controlled pontiacs were in 1980 (anti knock only) and 1981 (full ecm/spark) with the 301/301 Turbos.

Will the 1981 distributor work in my car?

Thanks
