It differs from engine to engine, best best Fuel economy is usually around 15.5-15.8 AFR. I would experiment some. Also don't over look your timing. At lean cruise you need about 40-45 degree's timing.

Early VW had hose connectors. What flow do you need?
There is an ad on thesamba.com for 24.5lbs injectors. NOS for 40 ea. I bought two and they are good.
