Re: Porsche SC 1983 Microsquirt setup for ignition control

I am not tto sure that I will remove the CF compensation device on the distributor in my case like Tony has done. This will require to have at least 30 deg of of contact from the rotor to the contact pin on the cap. I am not sure this will work out. I rather use the CF device and compensate for ...

Re: Porsche SC 1983 Microsquirt setup for ignition control

Thanks for the response, I guess the correction on the advance from the MAP should be minor compare to CF correction. In fact I ran the engine with and without the vacuum hose in the distributor and I got circa 3 deg. I think with proper mechanical adjustment I should be able to make it work. I let ...

Porsche SC 1983 Microsquirt setup for ignition control

Hi there,

I wish to use the ignition control from Megatune to drive the ignition on my Porsche SC 1983 3.0 l engine. My timing and rpm signal is from the hall effect of the distributor. The ignition box is a MSD 6a + the associated coil. On the Megatune software, the base ignition setting is asking ...

Re: Un controlled Fast idle after engine start

Great, but for now I cannot do anything since my rpm pickup at the distributor was shorting making the start impossible. That must be the reason why it burns my CDI box.

Thanks for your response.

Re: Un controlled Fast idle after engine start

The bodies are designed and machined by myself. Each one has the ability to have his preset opening at idle, but I realized it will be easier to close then all and control the flow of air by a metering valve installed at the vacuum port. MAP values is obtained to the EC by ganging all 6 vacuum hoses ...

Re: Un controlled Fast idle after engine start

No vacuum leak. Did check everything. Just that my homemade throttle bodies was badly ajusted, slighly open. Wow!, just few degrees make this thing to 4500 rpm. Using 1 throttle body per cylinder is quite something to setup.

Thanks for your response. :D

Un controlled Fast idle after engine start

Hi there,

I am using the microsquirt on a Porsche 911 SC with 6 throttle bodies. The engine start just fine but the idle is going crazy up to a steady 4500 rpm, the throttle position are almost close. The megatune is showing WUE on. Is this normal, how the engine can run with such high RPM with ...

Just forget everything about this, I went to the nice video page on the DIY Auto TUNE web site and found my answer.

thanks

Re: Fuel pump running on/off and rpm values from 0 to 8000 rpm

Just to clarify the coax cable was not connected to the coil but the distributor. I kept try to understand my situation, but it seems that the tuner studio is showing me that the ECU is not set. Can that problem of on/off pump be related to this . Anyone can tell me how you set the ECU type?

Thanks

Fuel pump running on/off and rpm values from 0 to 8000 rpm

Hi,

Here's my issue, I am using a microsquirt with 2.888 code. I have connected the IAT, MAP, ground, O2, the Coax center wire + the sheild to my 911SC coil and the fuel pump. Now, when I turn on the contact, the first sign of the trouble is the on/off sound of the pump. Looking at the screen of ...
