Re: EDIS-8 to MSD 6AL

Yeah my edis stuff works fine, my problem is going to be that I can't get enough spark to run a blower motor with 10+ lbs of boost. When I talked to msd they have a 4 channel DIS-4 box that is like $600.00 or more, also I still need to buy two msd coil packs and assorted wiring and new spark plug ...

Re: EDIS-8 to MSD 6AL

It slipped my mind but I'm running a relay board as well, but where do I connect the white wire from the MSD to? It says to DB37 pin#36 where does that match up on the board?

EDIS-8 to MSD 6AL

Okay so right now I have a MS-II running EDIS-8, but I would like to switch it over to run a MSD-6al with a distributor and a coil. Other than the obvious hardware changes that would have to be made, what would I have to change on the MS-II board it's self and what would I have to change in megatune ...

Thanks Matt

Dyno shops in Florida

Anybody here been to any dyno shops in the south florida area? I'm looking for someone that has worked with megatune and doesn't mind working on a domestic forced induction motor.

Thanks.

Re: which oil/fuel pressure sensor can I use?

I just picked up a cheap oil pressure gauge from autozone. I'm not sure if it is 0-5v linear, I'm sure it is since it's a basic gauge.

Re: which oil/fuel pressure sensor can I use?

Could you use a sending unit for any oil pressure gauge, The oil pressure gauge I have goes from 0-100 psi. Would you be able to set megasquirt to work with that.

Re: Throttle Body Part -- Need a Source

If you can't buy it from a dealer I would check in a junk yard. Is it under any kind of pressure at all? You could use some of the silver RTV, since it's high torque and I do believe is also fuel resistant.

Re: Cranking/Not Cranking issue

You wanted to know how I knew that the coil was losing power while cranking. I just hooked my test lite to the 12v in and disconnected the starter so when I turned the key the light would go out. I just had to rewire the 12v wire to a hot while cranking circut.

Re: Need guidance on knock sensing mod

Megasquirt can use the signal from a GM knock sensor and in the manaul it gives specs on what the knock sensor should read when it detects knock. Do you think you could retrofit the GM knock controller onto the set up you have already so that you get the best of both worlds.

Re: Relay Cable

I think the VR wires are grounded through the edis modual, why not just buy the wiring harness for DIYAutoTune.Com for cheap they take the guess work out of these things.

Re: Cranking/Not Cranking issue

I was having the same problem, after much searching I found it to be a wiring issue. The coil was losing power while cranking. Also you might check to see what your cranking speed is set at in MegaTune, if it is set to high you won't get megatune to recognize it to be cranking. Double check that you ...

Re: VR sensor placement

Yeah I tried to dial in the time with trigger wizard but nothing really seemed to change. So I guess I will check and see if the base timing for the EDIS is really 10*. How else can I adjust the timing with out moving the wheel?

Re: VR sensor placement

Thannks again Matt for the responses. I can't see in the manual how to adjust the timing that MS reads from the wheel, everytime I want adjust my intial timing I will have to move the wheel? Because I was thinking intial timing of 14* might be to high it should be closer to 6-10*. I got it to almost ...

VR sensor placement

I am unclear on the placement for a VR sensor with a 36-1 EDIS wheel. Can I just adjust the trigger pick up in MSTune? The problem with how I have to place my sensor is on a SBC the water pump gets in the way so I wasn't able to do the 5 teeth before TDC or w/e it is in the manual. How would I ...

Re: Blown 327 with a MS-II and questions

So I have MS-II with on a SBC 327 with Edis-8 I wired ever thing to the Edis and the relay board according to the MS manual. But I keep getting this intermittent tach signal, it will work for a while when cranking and then tappers off. I'm confused because everything worked fine for a few minutes ...
