vulnerable MAX232 chip, any possible improvement?

I have tried few SMD3.57 MS-II Board, and replaced about 5 max232 Chips already.
And tody I have to replace another more, since I found that it is failed in Loopback check again.

I am just wondering if there is any improved chip which could be put for repalcing the MAX232.

Thanks in advance.

Re: VR circuit V3 PCB

I am running 12-1 missing tooth VR with MSII-EXtra on V3.75 SMD board.
Below is the scope image when I turning R52 either CW or CCW, when the R56 is tunned at near 0V tirgger point.

Re: VR circuit V3 PCB

I do have the same issue, because I use the Falling edge trigger (Swaped VR Sensor Wires).
So I have to adjust the R56 Pot clockwise to get trigger at 0V.
But, I am confused the R52 function now, since the adjustment did not show difference in my scope.
I may have to check if my R52 is still good ...

Re: Custom cltfactor.inc generator

Hi, This could be a stupid question, but I do want to know:
What is the difference between this generator and the Thermistor Talbe generator in the Megatune 2.25?
Currently, I use that thermistor to generate the table, but the readout of the Coolant sensor doesn't reflect the real temperature.
When ...

Re: Board acting funny

That is good new for me.
And the next question which will be asked by ISUproject probably is that without the RS232 connection, how can we re-download the firmware with BDM?

I do have the BDM kit just bought few days ago, since I am thinking that I will have to repair those MS-II daughter board by ...

Re: Board acting funny

I have exactly same issue now. I use a 12V power supply (110VAC to 12VDC 3A) on JimStim to power on SMD 3.57 board and one V3 board. Before I never notice this problem, since after find the Clock running on realtime display I normally turn the Stim off and continue to assembly.

Initially, I think ...
