Re: Moving to ITB, vacuum doubt

I'm working on a small motorcycle fuel injection project. It has a bank of four small Mikuni carbs that I've turned into throttle bodies. I'm going to build a SyncroMAP circuit for these throttle bodies. The SyncroMAP circuit has a dedicated MAP sensor for each cylinder and it uses diodes to deliver ...

Re: wiring relay board for fan control

Dave, OK you lost me already. I am sure its me! More simplified question: I thought i connected pinout6 (fidle) on the relay board to the ground of the fan relay. When the ECU calls for the conditions to be met, it simply grounds the fan relay through the MS2? I am not using the fidle relay on the ...

Question about VR sensor...

I'm about to modify a 6-0 trigger wheel by removing one of the teeth to make it a 6-1 trigger wheel.

Here's a picture of what the trigger wheel looks like:

I'm going to remove the "long tooth" because it will keep the ...

Re: Question about trigger wheel choice...

Yuk - what a mess ... I think Matt's circuit and code would still work, although it would obviously have to be modified for 6 teeth. One point to be confirmed with the Extra devs, now that I think of it - CAN the Extra code do a 4 cyl with 6 teeth ...

Once again, thanks for the input Don, that is ...

Re: Question about trigger wheel choice...

Hey Don,

Would you believe that there's a wheel out there that's even stranger than the "3 short 1 long" wheel? Well how about this little starfish right here? Yep, this "5 short 1 long" is the stock wheel out of a Suzuki GSF400. This is why I'm asking about the 4 inch 36-1 wheel.

Question about trigger wheel choice...

Hello Ignition Control Experts,

I'm beginning my second motorcycle fuel injection project. The first project was a fuel-only conversion of a Kawasaki EX250 (250cc parallel twin engine). Now I've got a Suzuki GSF400 Bandit (400cc inline four cylinder engine) and this time I want to do both fuel ...

Re: Innovative LC-1 doesn't match the TS display... at all!

It's been a while since I set up my LC-1, but I think I remember having to use the Innovate configuration software to set at least one of the outputs (probably the anolog output) to 0 to 5 volts. If I remember correctly the software presents you with a page that shows your current voltage range ...

Re: MS on an older motorcycle engine

for one can I use the stock CDI tach signal(timing) to time the injectors?

Are you sure the bike has a CDI type ignition? I ask because Kawasaki road bikes tend to have Inductance type ignitions (also called TCI) produced by Denso Corp of Japan. TCI, especially wasted spark applications of TCI ...

Re: LC-1 gauge doesn't match Megatune gauge

Where are the MS and the LC-1 grounded? This sounds like a ground offset issue.

Okay Matt, now I'm interested...

If the MS and the LC-1 are grounded to different places and because of this are "seeing" slightly different A/F ratios, which of the two is likely to be more accurate?

I ask because ...

Re: tach spikes? MS1 tuning issues.

You're using MS1 which means you're fuel-only, right?

If you are trying to sense the Tach event off of the coil then I may have a fix for you. I also had reset problems in my fuel-only setup.

Look at the picture I posted in this thread. It works great for a fuel-only setup that senses the Tach off ...

Re: Injector placement and physical size, cb400/gsx400 TBs

Completely off the subject but the first things my eyes always go to on a set of Keihin carbs are the "phillips head" screws, because they're not phillips head screws. They're JIS screws.

Just look at that poor tortured-looking screw head in your uploaded picture. Partially "cammed-out" and looking ...

I believe you can only learn from other people's perspectives on a given problem, so here's a link to something that's been going on in the Kawasaki EX-250 (baby ninja) community. http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=74579

A guy named Matt running a company called Ecotrons has developed ...

You're talking about this guy's work, right?

http://roadstercycle.com/yamaha_vmax_fuel_injector_cv_car.htm

Looks like a very good solution to the problem; well engineered, proven on the road, etc., but it doesn't preserve the bike's vacuum-controlled slides which I really don't think the CBR250R ...

Re: Injector placement and physical size, cb400/gsx400 TBs

You may have more on your hands than you can handle with that CBR250R.

One of the signs pointing in that direction is the carb/throttlebody bore size issue. If you look around at the difference between "sport" and "super sport" bikes you'll notice the extreme differences in the ratio between bore ...

Re: Injector placement and physical size, cb400/gsx400 TBs

I think you're going to discover there aren't many people here on the Mega/Microsquirt sites that have any familiarity or experience with your CBR250 or the other small displacement bikes you mentioned. They're just not the usual targets for a fuel injection modification. I found this out myself ...

All I can say is wow, a CBR250RR. Honda didn't build many of them and there certainly aren't many left on the road any more. Your bike is a rare and amazing piece of Honda engineering.

You're not the first person to ask this question.....
