Re: how to measure Coil Over Plug output?
If you work at a fancy lab you may be able to borrow a HF power meter equipped with high frequency HV sensors for voltage and current
However , there is an easier and less ...

Re: EDIS4 base config assistance
This is the rpm signal to MS. Use the MSconfig as per the manual .
EDIS pin 2 can be used to drive a tacho. Pin 2, on some EDIS , has in adition also some modulation with eror codes. Never use ...

Re: Basic O2 Sensor question?
As to the "lambda heaters", of the NB type.
The heater is connected to 12 V as soon as the car is running, many wire it in // with the fuel pump which makes sense.
The heater itself is a PTC resistor ( Positive temp coefficient resistor) When at say 20 C it draws around 3 Amps and heats up ...

Re: CIS to EFI Injector Question
I have squirted a number of M103 engines that had KE Jetronic.
The best part was dumping the KE Jet stuff! Felt great
I have used normal type injectors with the conical spray pattern. Cars run great!
PM me with an email adress, I will send engine pictures and also well tested msq.
And while ...

Re: EDIS Timing Question
You are most welcome. Maybe you can, after having sorted uour install out, send a mail to the SiteAdmins and ask then to make an addtion on this in the Megamanual.
I have seen the behaviour on all EDIS 4, 6 and 8 that I hav used ( most be around 20 by now).

Re: EDIS Timing Question
If you hook upp EDIS on a test bench that can start at low rpms ( I did) you will notice that the EDIS in standalone ( ie no SAW) will start att almost TDC and as rpms go up towards 400 the ignition point will approach 10 BTDC.
So , install it as per the ...

Re: EDIS-8 Troubleshooting
1 VR sensor polarity swop. You have tried , but no change.
2 Check wiring. Some of us have managed to wire the EDIS backwards. Pin 1 is identified on the module.
3 Some ( if not all) EDIS have problems when spark crct resistance is too low. Each plug ...

Just make sure that you get the polarity right, the schematic in this thread says it all.

Re: Shielded wire needed for EDIS SAW?
I have stripped a few original looms from Ford and the PIP/SAW wires are bundled together and shielded by alu foil wrapping.
The alu foil is connected to pin 7 at the EDIS plug and not connected at the other end.
I have done some MS/EDIS installs and use the same principle , ie a 2 core ...

Re: Mercedes Benz Throttle Body TPS
To me the throttle body looks like a part from a KE Jet equipped M102 or M103 MB engine.
If so, the "TPS" in the picture is not a TPS. It is a switch where one contact is closed at closed throttle
and another is closed at WOT.
Check with a DVM.
And running MS without a TPS is possible, but ...

Re: 1N4001 trouble
Hook everything up as per schematic . To positively identify the battery supply wire going to the PWM valve, unplug the valve and switch on the ignition.
Use a Voltmeter or simply a 12 V 5 W bulb. Connect one end of this to the chassis Probe the plug , the pin ...

Re: What do you think? (D-jet with MS - Fuel Pressure regula
The objective of the manifold-pressure referenced fuel pressure regulator is to keep the differential pressure over the injector constant.
This will certainly help you tune a VE table.
At low pressure="high vacuum"= low load you will need short opening times of the injectors. If you use a ...

Re: Edis 8 on twin spark V8?
MY MB knowledge drops of fast after M130 around 1972. MB M113 is a bit to modern for me, but anyway. I GUESS thetwo pugs per cylinder are not firing at the same instant but that one fires 5 to 10 crank degrees after the first. If so, you will loose some power if you fire both plugs together ...

Random Hero.

Re: HEI and MSD or EDIS
And you get a rock steady rpm signal to run the MS on, with no knobs to fool around with.
Timing jitter is eliminated and the ignition curve is made in MS and sent to EDIS over a simple
wire connection (SAWsignal)
And ...
