Re: Need help with engine startup and idle

Assuming it's wired according to the manual, the pump not running for a couple of seconds at switch on needs investigating. Have you got a stim and does the LED on that show it to prime? If not, I'd reload the code. There is a new version just released.

Are you getting any warnings when you first ...

Matt I am away from my car for the next two weeks, I will get back to you with those details.

Re: O2 sensor reading in TS does not match dash gauge

It is set to single wide band and authority is set to 0%.

In the Calibrate AFR Table it is set to Innovative LC1 Default.

O2 sensor reading in TS does not match dash gauge

I have a LC-1 Wideband O2 sensor installed which is feeding a dash gauge and MS2.

There is a discrepancy between the dash gauge and the gauge in TS.

For example, when the dash gauge is reading 14.7, the TS gauge says I m above 19…

I am inclined to trust what the dash gauge says but I would like ...

Need help with engine startup and idle

I am having a hard time comprehending the technical instruction on how to get my engine to start and idle properly. Maybe someone can explain it to me in simpler terms.

Here is what I have done:

I have followed the basic instruction on setting up TS to communicate with MS2. I have set my engine ...

Re: fuel pump only primes with laptop plugged in

scarpa - I'm not an expert but the two issues I have had with my fuel pump have been bad grounds. Not on the MS side but on the sensors and engine side harness.

My fuel pump was not coming on at all... it was a missing ground on my TPS.

Now my fuel pump comes when I start the car but it does not ...

What to do with Variable Assisted Power Steering (VAPS)?

My car has VAPS (Variable Assisted Power Steering) which uses vehicle speed (from tanny) and other info to determine the amount of power-steering (slow = more assist, fast = less). I only discovered this after yanking out the old EEC-IV and installing MS2.

I have two options:

#1 - Rip out the VAPS ...

Re: Max length of MAP vacuum line?

I am posting this incase anyone else ever has the same/similar question: It is for the MS 1 with V2.2 board but I am sure it is the same for all MS units.

"Don't worry about how long your MAP sensor vacuum hose is. Intuitively it seems that shorter should be better. However, a few people have done ...

Re: Max length of MAP vacuum line?

FWIW, I like Al's suggestion for making the sensor 'remote' and running wire instead of hose, pipe etc.

Just 3 wires..... can be very small gauge..... easy to route....

Just curious, is this in a boat?

Re: Max length of MAP vacuum line?

Thanks for your replys. I will give it a shot with reg vacu lines (thatsa what I have on hand) and see what happens.

I am converting from MAF to MAP. How does a MAP work with boost? I am running a Eaton SC putting out about 7psi.

Thanks

Max length of MAP vacuum line?

Is there a limit on how long the vac line to the MAP sensor can be? I am looking at about a 12' through from manifold to the MS2 unit.

Thanks

Grounds?

Hello.

I am wiring up a MS2 v3.57 up to my 1993 EEC-IV harness via DIYBOB.

The MS2 harness has 6 black ground wires.

My EEC-IV has the following grounds - Case Ground (pin 20), Power Ground (pin 40), Power Ground (pin 60).

I believe all 3 of the EEC grounds go to the chassis. Do I put two MS ...

ACCEL #150619

I have a set of ACCEL Injectors part # 150619.

I am installing MS2 V3.57.

What injector information do I need and where can I find the information? I saw a link for ACCEL data on the sticky but it is dead.

Thanks

New and confused...

Hello. I just received my Mega Squirt 2 V3.57 with Ford TFI Input and TFI Output, and the DIYBOB. I am hoping to start the install this weekend.

I have been reading through the online manuals and I am completely confused...

My vehicle is a heavily modified 1993 Ford Taurus with a V6 3.0, EEC-IV ...
