Re: No Tach Signal

At the moment I am only trying to run off the coil!

I have a 36-1 wheel to go on in the future but the engine has to come out for that.

Where/what should be changed?

Cheers

Re: No Tach Signal

I had the problem with the car and the Stim.

I am now trying to get it to work solely working on the Stim.

I have the JimSTIM and have checked that with the LEDs and it is outputting an RPM Signal.

Re: No Tach Signal

Well Ive replaced my U3 and still do not have any signs of Tach.

I have treid bypassing the Zener for testing from the Stim. Its powered through mains so don't think I have a power overridding issue.

Any Ideas?

Cheers

Re: No Tach Signal

Ive tried the jumper with no success.

I think having the U3 in wrong has buggered it.

Will have to wait for new one to arrive.

I have now installed it correctly with no luck.

No Tach Signal

Hi All,

I have a MS2 V3.0 with a relay board which Im in the process of trying to get the car started. I have all the other sensors working great but have not had a tach signal.

Im starting by just getting the tach directly from the Negative on the coil (easiest way on my car) this meant I wasn't ...

Re: I think Ive shorted MAX232 Chip

Matt,

Sorry for not getting back to the forum, I traced the initial fault to a crook Stim chip. Ive have now replaced it and I also found my D20 was backwards. Not sure why it worked well to start with. I removed the D20 with the intention to replace it and decided incorrectly to see if I actually ...

I think Ive shorted MAX232 Chip

Firstly I have MS2 with V3.0 Board.

All things were going well. Had managed to link up to TunerStudio and transfer software. Next day no connection. I checked the DB9 pins 2 and 3 loop and got the correct response. But when I do the loop through Pins 12 and 13 in the Daughterboard socket - no ...

Re: XJS Timing Pickup

It sounds quite different.

Both the Coil and existing ECU Magnetic pickup are enclosed within the distributor.

The Lucas System uses the magnetic pickup for its ECU which gives only two pulses per 720 degrees.

If it is possible I would prefer to use the optical sensor but Im unsure how to set the ...

XJS Timing Pickup

I am a little way off getting MegaSquirt for my car (Its stuck in Customs).

As background my Jag has both an optical pickup for the coil and a magnetic pickup for the Fuel Injection.

After reading and re-reading the Megamanual I don't see whether I can hook both up at once??? This would let me ...
