Sorry, I can't answer for the signal type coming from the APPS, but believe it to be voltage (0-5vdc) but not certain. The TPS is difinitely 0-5 vdc. The newer (05)APPS would be the prefered unit as it is self contained in the throttle assembly.

The 03 Ram uses a APPS (acelerator pedal position sensor) which is driven by cable that produces an electrical output to the PCM to drive the TB by wire (FBW). The TPS is located in the internals of the TB itself. Just wanted to clarify the external APPS is not a remote TPS. The 04+ APPS is part of ...
