Re: Help with interpreting Tunerstudio settings

Sorry forget that last post, The manual for MS2 is here http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/wheel.htm
The Microsquirt reads toothed wheels a different way.

So after re-reading the instructions it seems quite straight forward. Thanks for the help guys

Re: Help with interpreting Tunerstudio settings

I reflashed the firmware and my spark has returned.

Now I just found a good writeup on the trigger settings in a manual named autotrigger for Microsquirt.

Apparently I have been counting the teeth between tdc and the tach signal anticlockwise when I should have been counting them clockwise ...

Re: Troubleshooting MS2 V3.0 U4 FET Driver

I cant report the definite fix of this problem but I can narrow it down to one of three things.

Firstly because my car came out of the factory with a carburetor I had to install a fuse box and extra wiring, I was trying to follow the OEM wiring diagram for switching the relays without much luck. In ...

Re: Help with interpreting Tunerstudio settings

Okay so chased my tail a bit however have finally overcome the no fuelling issue.

The bad news is I have temporarily lost spark. Following on from the previous post the RPM on the log has now dropped to ~700 which I feel is still too high. I have 12 volts at the +ve side of the coil, I have ...

Re: Help with interpreting Tunerstudio settings

Yes the RPM is not right, I think I am on the right track though, just found out there is only 1 ohm across the terminals of my fuel pump, the fuel pump that shares positive with the injectors, coil and LC2 hence no spark or fuel on the last starting attempt.

This fault reared its head a while back ...

Re: Troubleshooting MS2 V3.0 U4 FET Driver

Okay I have found the issue.

The coil for activating the injector relay is being grounded at both sides.

The positive to this coil is spliced into the fuel pump positive. For some reason I have 1 ohm across the fuel pump terminals.

The fuel pump is wired up as per manual ( +ve to relay and -ve ...

Re: Troubleshooting MS2 V3.0 U4 FET Driver

Is it possible that this reversed diode (D17) could have damaged something?
I still have no fuel from the injectors?
After turning around the diode (D17) I was able to achieve a light from both LED1 and LED2 on the stim when pins 21 and 22 were bridged to the grounding strip.

Re: Help with interpreting Tunerstudio settings

Hi Guys

I had another attempt at starting today, please find my latest .msl and .msq.

I will recheck getting spark and fuel after latest changes next. I haven't tried injector test mode and I am one of the 99.9% who didn't bench test the injectors. The spark plugs appear drier than I expected but ...

Re: Help with interpreting Tunerstudio settings

Thanks for your reply Ken,

I would like to utilize the below pictured 36-1 trigger wheel. It would be mounted to the crankshaft pulley as per the picture. However I am unsure about what vehicle it came off so I am unsure how to get a sensor for it.

Re: Help with interpreting Tunerstudio settings

I have had a look on the net and there are some diy oscilloscope kits that can be purchased for under $30.

Also I mapped out my trigger wheel a bit better. I just wanted to post this up to see if I am on the right track with these settings :?: :?: :?:

Re: Help with interpreting Tunerstudio settings

So I have ground off another tooth to make it appear like a 12-1 wheel to the Megasquirt.

Still wont start. Could someone please, please look at my datalog, I think there might be interference on the rpm signal, it appears to be reading a lot higher all of a sudden, 5-10x higher. In previous ...

Troubleshooting MS2 V3.0 U4 FET Driver

So I have a problem with not getting any fuel from the injectors.

I think it is a fault in my U4 circuit for INJ1, this is because when I ground pin 21 of U1 (INJ1) I do not see the led for INJ1 on the stim come on, when I ground pin 22 of U1 (INJ2) I see the INJ 2 light come on at the stim.

When ...

Re: Help with interpreting Tunerstudio settings

Yes it appears that would work, I have a 36-1 crank wheel I could have a go at installing if it doesn't.

I just want to see it run again.

Re: Help with interpreting Tunerstudio settings

I have had a hard time trying to troubleshoot a no start condition on my Daihatsu Charade, I am now beginning to wonder if the 2.920 code supports a cam driven vr sensor (24-1 toothed wheel) alone to control engine timing.

I have spent countless hours reading through both the megamanual and the ms ...

Help with interpreting Tunerstudio settings

Am I interpreting this parameter input correctly ?

In regards to Trigger Offset (deg) - This engine has a cam driven distributor with internal VR sensor, 24-1 trigger wheel, there are four actual teeth between the missing tooth and where the tooth at TDC mates with the VR sensor. Ignition Input ...
