Re: injectors

Depending on your injectors, you will have filter baskets where the fuel enters the injector. sometimes these get clogged. Course, I've seen two systems this month with a dirty fuel pump intake screen causing nightmare fueling issues.

Re: Fuel Press. Regulator Recomendations?

I've had good luck at summitracing.com. Jegs might be a good source too. Especially if you are using -AN style fittings. Even the store brand summit regulators come from decent manufacturers, and most have at least NPT fittings.

Re: Fuel Press. Regulator Recomendations?

Your selection depends totally on your project. Port injection Vs Throttle body will affect pressure range selection. Are you boosting? Consider a rising rate regulator. Are you using an exotic fuel?

Share some info about your project, and that will help us help you. There are too many variables ...

Re: weber DGAS to TBI adapter plate

Check out

http://www.tdperformance.com

They had the adapter I needed to mount a GM TBI to holley 2300 2bbl carb. (I mounted a GM TBI to a Ford 351W  )

Re: VW TPS and idle control

Taking a stab at that one, the idle control circuitry is contained on the MS2 daughter card, so until you upgraded to MS2, you would have to have separate idle valve. You could probably keep the original idle stepper in place, and physically adjust your idle speed manually by the stepper ...

Re: Tuning large (500+ ci) engines

I'm gonna stab at this one, and say your injector flow rate >should< handle how much fuel your engine needs. all MS cares about is how long the injectors stay open.

Re: donor vehicle? - external fuel pump for TBI

I'm using the stock TBI regulator with no pressure creep. I've tuned and retuned the Bronco several times in the 3 years I've had it 'squirted, and every time I check fuel pressure, right there at 12 PSI.

Re: donor vehicle? - external fuel pump for TBI

I'm running the MSD 2225 from Summit racing ~$94 on my Bronco (GM TBI on a 351W  ). I have the pump even with the top of the tank, and can suck the fuel tank dry.

desoldering

I usually snip the legs off of whatever I'm desoldering (provides some satisfaction  ) then use solder wick.

Admittedly low tech, but I get frustrated with all the maintenance solder suckers require. I usually get too much heat on the board using suckers. With Wick, the thru hole is ...

where to use sockets

I personally use sockets whenever possible. One technique I've used for years is to tie the IC in place with Lacing Cord (Dental Floss works well also). When you have to replace or test, snip and the cord is off. It works best to use the cord that is wax coated since it will retain a knot better ...
