Re: stuck at loading code step 40

Just FYI, I have had problems with the 2.0 loader on my old laptop with serial port. I went back to the 1.04 loader and it seemed to work fine. My error was always with the verification part of loading the code.

Re: Trouble with setting AFR Table

Thanks for looking Ken. I did switch to single wide band, I must not have saved it after one of my several reloads.

I did not know there was a setting in Project Properties that set it to show lambda. What I don't get is, after using the tool to build an AFR table and loading it, why did the ...

Re: Trouble with setting AFR Table

I tried reloading the 2.89 code and got the same thing. So next I tried loading the latest code, 2.92, and still got the same issue. I have always been curious about the MS Extra code so I loaded that and it seems to be working. So I am going to give the extra code a try for a while.

Trouble with setting AFR Table

I have MS2 on a v3 board running the 2.89 code. I just switched from a NB O2 to the spartan wide band from 14point7. After installing the sensor and wiring I went into TS under Tools and Calibrate AFR. Per the Spartan data the liner output is 0v = 10afr and 5v = 20afr. Under Fuel Setup I switched ...

Re: 79 CJ7 258 conversion to EFI

I would use MS2 so you can control the IAC valve for cold starts/warm up. Depending on how comfortable you are with wiring you may want to use a relay board.

I think 79 has the duraspark distributor, in that case it is a VR sensor with a 6 tooth wheel. If you use the distributor I would upgrade it ...

Failed to subscribe DashComp to.... warning

A little background, I am helping a friend install MegaSquirt on his vehicle and am new to working with multiple projects. If there is anyplace I can go to read up on how to best do this, I would appreciate it.

I created a new project for this vehicle and select it. When I select the new project I ...

Older ini files

I am looking for an older ini file so I can help a friend with his MS. The version I am looking for is the 2.350. I've looked in the manual where the older versions are stored but the ini files are not there. I've searched but not had much luck.

Thanks. Brian.

Re: Jeep 4.0 w/6 tooth distributor wheel setup help

Congrats on getting her to fire up!

Renix was a pre OBD1 system used by in Jeeps in the late eighties. It was a combination of Renault and Bendix. In 1991 Jeep went to the Chrysler designed OBD1 compliant system.

Trigger wheel = 0 is correct. I "think" that lets MS know you are using a ...

Re: Jeep 4.0 w/6 tooth distributor wheel setup help

Another option is the later 4.2 inline six from early YJ's and later CJ's. These will drop in to the 4.0 and are the same as a ford duraspark 1 distributor with a VR sensor and 6 teeth.

I have heard that the ford trigger window will bolt in place of the single window Jeep unit, but never seen it ...

If you are having to adjust the timing without changing where the pickup is in the distributor, could the issue be that the rotor is just getting to far out of phase?

Re: will a distributor based engine work wo a crank angle se

With that setup (no crank sensor, one signal per piston on the cam) the ECU does not need to know when the engine is at TDC of piston #1, it just needs to know when it is getting to TDC of any power stroke. It uses that to determine RPM and when to fire the coil. Where the rotor is pointed ...

Re: New Guy Questions

I did not go with GM parts. I have the 4.2 straight six with the 4.0 HO head, so I used all the fuel injection parts from a 1994 4.0 Jeep. I grabbed the intake, TB (with TPS and IAC), IAT, CLT, O2 sensor, injectors, fuel rail, fuel pressure regulator and a bunch of the wiring and connectors from a ...
