Re: custom MS-II code

The inpram base address isn't 'absolute' and if it changed the compiler would take care of this. It's one reason for using a structure for this purpose.

Yoou do have to make sure you don't go over 1024 bytes total in inpram (or in2ram), and that the INI corresponds exactly to the inpram structure ...

Re: custom MS-II code

I just noticed it generated a warning "pragma ROM_VAR was not handled" for the line "#pragma ROM_VAR DEFAULT" before the table* macros are #define'd on about line 1450. Perhaps that's my problem, but I don't know what it means.

custom MS-II code

Ok, I gave up on gcc (for now) and went the CodeWarrior route even though I haven't used it in > 10 years. I got the 2.890 code to compile and come in under the code size limit by ifdef'ing out lots of stuff. My problem is I can't modify the inpram fields using MegaTune, and I just wanted to verify ...

Re: GM IAT as CLT for aircooled VW?

It's a stock GM CLT sensor. I don't think it required any changes to MegaTune, but it's been a few years and I don't remember exactly. I mounted it to the tins under #2 in the airflow. Seems to work fine.

Re: Lost power to injectors, engine was running, works on stim

I'm kinda wondering what the LED's on the megasquirt are telling me, if they don't flash when I am cranking.

"The Injector LED on the MegaSquirt lights when either Injector bank is commanded to fire, while the injector LEDs on the Stimulator light when each injector bank actually is grounded. The ...

Re: Lost power to injectors, engine was running, works on stim

I know it doesn't get power from the MS, but if the Megasquirt or code were the issue, then the stim would not have the injector LED's flashing like they are.

Just making sure we were on the same page on how they are wired.

Wiring looks good, wire goes to injector from +12V, goes to relay for ...

Re: Lost power to injectors, engine was running, works on stim

The injectors do not get power from the MS, they get their power from an external source and are grounded by the MS. With the main relay on you should see 12v at the injectors, if not, check your wiring.

I mounted a coolant sensor to the tins about 1/4" from the fins on the cylinder #2 (VW). Works fine, although I did adjust the various tables to that the engine is warmed up at 120 degrees.

I drilled 17/32 then used sandpaper to smooth out the bores. I used a Dremel to bevel the edge a bit to make it easier to insert the injector and o-ring. No problems and no leaks.
