No luck with the Palm for datalogging

Postby JTVOLVO on Sun Aug 23, 2009 7:26 pm

I need to datalog in my racecar (practices, qualifing and races are 30 minutes long). Does anyone have suggestions as to a reliable way to do this? I have tried using a Socket Modem to connect to my Palm Tungsten but with poor results. I really think I need to connect from my MSII through a serial cable to a small device. Any suggestions as to what works reliably would be wonderful.

Thanks,

James

P.S. I do not need to capture an entire session.

Old post I know but I just stumbled onto the OpenLog from SparkFun.

It logs serial data onto a microSD card (up to 2GB  ). It isn't too expensive and the cards are very cheap now. As another bonus it is open source.

I will look at this but am waiting for MSIII with an SD card. Hopefully it will be available soon.
