Cranking Pulse Width's

For discussing B&G MS-I/MS-II set-up and tuning of fuel parameters (including idle valves, etc.).

Does anyone know these for a cold start on a zetec, as im having mighty trouble getting it running in the cold weather.
all advice hugely appreciated :)

Hi, Do you have a Wideband? if it's not then start from less to more until you get a good start, How the engine start hot?, What PW?, try double the hot PW for cold.

yes i have wideband, how can i tell from using this?

A few years back another board member sent me some Ford calibrations with cranking pulsewidth given as a function of engine coolant temperature. I plotted the data on a log scale for PW and both engines turned out to be linear, so from that I gather that cranking PW has exponential decay.

Try this in the standard MS-II cranking pulsewidth table and you'll see the shape of the curve that is appropriate. If you have a good hot cranking number, try scaling the numbers (minus open/close time) that I give below and see if that works for you.
