Can a carburetor be converted into a TBI unit? Port injection looks like a lot of work to setup correctly. I also like the look of a large carburetor style air cleaner.[/code]

The Holley TBI's take a standard round 4bbl type air cleaner. I think the GM TBI's and Ford CFI's are fairly close to the standard ones. There is a company that has a system called BOSSEFI that looks just like a Holley carb, I have been told that they will sell the throttle body without the rest of the system but dont know that for sure. There are a few that sell throttle bodies that take standard bosch style injectors. Auto-nomics is one that will sell a kit including MS harnesses, theirs takes the standard air cleaner.

Thanks I will use a GM or Holley TBI unit and 4bbl base adapter. Now I need to pick an oxygen sensor, TPS, MAP, IAC, and ACT.

The TPS should come with the throttle body, if its missing just get the OE replacement. Most big vendors sell Holley parts, you may have to find the part number on their website yourself but then anyone should be able to order it. Everybody sells the GM ones.

IAC should also be part of the TB. All the GM ones had one stock. Early holley used a fast idle solenoid that works fine, mid had an optional IAC, and current models seem to have them standard. Same as the TPS if its missing get the OE one.

Unless you are doing something real special just go with the standard MAP that most of the vendors include with the MS kits.

There are part numbers listed in the manual under 'Wiring & Sensors' so all you need to know is your thread size for CLT. IAT you are most likely adding anyway so just go with the GM one listed in the manual. Check your MS vendor, often times they sell the common sensors with connectors and sometimes bungs where needed.

For WB o2 sensors I went with the LC-1, seemed to be the most bang for the buck to me.
