Re: no coolant sensor? engine is air cooled what to do?
I modified the MS so that I could use the temperature range reported by my head-temp sensor on my aircooled engine (vw bus). I think this is the most reliable and responsive method.infinkc wrote:my engine is air cooled, is there any option for the coolant sensor?
Using the coolant sensor can be problematic, especially on warm-starts. If you have it under the engine, the sensor will cool down but the engine will stay hot. In the case of the vw bus (and other l-jet setups), I think there's a good reason that the cold-start sensor is right above the case and the EFI head-temp sensor is mounted on the heads.
