What kind of Idle Control is a ford IACV/????

Post by ian99rt »

Looking at a mustang throttle body setup to adapt to a carb manifold ( have access to use a mill to make the adapter). The Valve pictured below is what i'm looking at and I can't figure out if its a Step motor setup or a Pulse Width Unit. I'm hoping its a stepper motor setup b/c i've already put my MS-II board together for a stepper motor.

AFAIK Ford only uses the PWM type. PWM (and solenoid type) uses two wires, stepper uses 4.
