MS2 wire gauge sizes

Post by JAM »

From reading the website, my understanding is that I use 18-20 gauge wires for everything going into the DB 37 pigtail when I make it. Is this correct? Is there a good reason to go to 18 ga, or is using a hi quality 20ga wire good enough?

Also, what is the best way to combine wires? For example, if I want to take multiple 20 ga wires and merge them into a 14 gauge wire, what is the best way to go about it? it seems like it could get messy

20 gauge wire usually works pretty well. For when you need to combine multiple wires, you can either solder them together or use butt splice crimp connectors and heat shrink tubing.
