The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.
I have a 92 ranger 2.3 with dual plug dis it is a long module with two 6 pin plugs one at the top and one at the bottom i have researched for hours and cant find any wiring diagrams for this module i want to run an ms2 and eventually use direct coil control with a vr sensor but right now it is a low budget project and i need to retain my factory ignition but wuold like to be able to control it because as soon as i get ms working good i am putting a turbo on it i have the turbo will be ordering an ms2 kit from DIYAutoTune within a month but wont have the cash flow for a few months for the vr timing plate, sensor and ford balancer with the 36-1 wheel built in i dont want to have to make a bracket or fit a toothed wheel on my balancer when i can just get a new balancer and timing plate any help would be nice preferably a picture or well drawn diagram
ps i have read and reread the megamanual but cant find this module in there i dont think ford used it for long i do know it is a dual hall effect crank position sensor( one for crank position and one for cylinder identification four wires, 2 sensors, one magnent )
Your best bet is to get a factory service manual - these have some of the most complete wiring diagrams out there. The dual plug DIS is treated like a TFI with PIP and SPOUT signals, and you can ignore the camshaft position wire run to the MS (but it must be hooked up to the DIS itself).
Honestly I can't belive you have a Ranger and you haven't been to http://www.therangerstation.com they have a pretty good library on pre 94 rangers...LOL
I've hooked up a few of these to Megasquirt via the EEC-IV adapter board and the setup is the same as regular TFI....
ok i couldnt take it i got DIYAutoTune.com to upgrade my ms1 to ms2 and can control everything i need to now i am just waiting to get it then put it together
