Small fuel injectors problem

Post by tobywuan »

Hello everyone!.... I'm new in the forum! need help

I'm having troubles to find a fuel injector for my engine and I seriously need your help. I have a project to modify a carburatted small engine to EFI system. I have found all the components except the Injector (Of course I'm going to use MegaSquirt), the problem is that I need to find first all the other components. The engine is small (3.5 HP and 50.25 cc displacement). According to some test the engine SFC is close to 267 cc/hr.hp which is small. However I'm seeking to reduce that number with the injection technology.
I have to injectors in mind to be modified (reduction of the flow rate) 1) PL2-0155 RC injectors 155cc/min and 2) Keihin D30NA-CY2-0500 or D30NA-CY2-0501 which, according to the datasheet the flow rate is 1.56 mm^3/St at 2ms (still some modification has to be made ¡I think!

If anyone can give me a second opinion or someone who knows another injectors to be used please let me know.
An extra help if some knows how to modify a fuel injector!

Thanks a lot!

rather then modify the injector, you could consider running a lower fuel pressure.

I don't know the relationship, but lower pressure drastically lowers the rate.

Guys,

The pressure relationship details and a calculator are here: http://www.megamanual.com/v22manual/minj.htm#flow
