Very quick MS-II (v3 board) 12v supply question

Post by agw_01 »

Hi guys,

Getting to the installation stage now and need a bit of help with the 12v supply for MS. I've done a bit of searching and am a little bit clearer but wanted to double check. I know this comes up quite often so I'm sorry if you're starting to get annoyed answering the same questions over and over again!

How many 12v inputs does the MS-II require for power? I was initially getting confused with pin #37 but am now aware that #37 is used to drive the fuel relay.

The only one I can see is pin #28, but I'm unsure as to whether this is a perm or switched live. The reason for asking is that I want to immobilise the ECUs power source through my alarm and can only use a switched source with the immobiliser circuit (alarm will activate if it detects 12v on the immob circuits).

Can I use pin #28 for this?

Cheers.

Pin 28 is switched, powered by the master relay, or your key, or a rocker switch, or ...

That'll do, thanks Don. I had it all planned out and when I looked again at the wiring diagram and this cropped up, my heart nearly sunk, heh.

I didn't think MS-II would need a perm live due to the data being written on the EEPROM but thanks for clarifying. I'll hopefully get the rest of the wiring sorted tonight and get this thing one stop closer to completion :D
