The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.

I'm wiring a custom adapter plug to go from the MS db37 to a motronic plug. I purchased the wire kit from DIY & see how the wires for the injectors are much heavier than the rest of the wires. These dont solder well to the DB37 due to their size. Would it be ok to use the same gauge as the rest of the wires in the kit? Total length for each wire will be a foot or less. Thanks!
the db37 has 2 pins per injector channel so you take the heavy wire strip it back untwist the wire and then take half the small untwisted strands and re twist them and then do the same with the remaining half , you will have what looks like a small "Y" at the end of the wire then you simply solder them to pins 32 and 33 for 1 bank and and then take another heavy wire and do the same only solder it to db37 pins 34 and 35 you can use heat shrink tubing to make it look neat and keep it insulated.

Our own harness design has 20 gauge wire for the first couple inches; it's then spliced from two 20 gauge wires to a single 14 gauge. For a short run, a pair of 20 gauge ones will be fine.
This depends on what you are running and how much current you need. I have only one hi-Z injector, so I use 20 AWG for everything except power, which is a pair of 20 AWG wires. If you are running multiple injectors or low-Z injectors you might want look into some wire tables. Just google "AWG" and you'll find plenty of guidelines for current.
