MegaMeet 2010 - June 25-26th, Reading PA
This year we are fortunate to be able to visit the actual location that assembles the MegaSquirt PCBs - like MS2 and Microsquirt. The shop is located in Boyertown, PA (about a 20 minute drive from Reading) and is a full-service Contract Manufacturer. They are going to open the doors (this one time only) to show you exactly how PCBs are populated and soldered... and this facility has high-capacity machines for large-scale assembly. The chance doesn't come by often to see these machines in action so this is a real treat indeed! Since MegaSquirt involves electronics this is the perfect venue for people like ourselves to learn more about how its done. We will also use this facility to host the MegaMeet discussions on Saturday. And, nearby this location is a speed shop where we can dyno vehicles for some tuning time, so you can fine-tune your setup. More information on this as we get it all pulled together.
There are two other places of interest nearby - the first is Carlisle. For those who are not aware, the town of Carlisle PA hosts car shows and swap meets almost every weekend and is truly legendary for car swap meets. This weekend is the "All-GM Nationals" meet, this will be crammed packed with every part imaginable for your GM ride. For those coming in from out-of-town you may want to hit this spot on Friday morning, its worth going to for sure. And you can stop along the way to Hershey, PA and drop off the family for the weekend while you do your car fix - they can also go to Lancaster to check out the sites!!! Here is information on Carlisle: http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/ce/index.asp
The other hot spot is Maple Grove Raceway, which is several minutes away from Reading. This is a *real* 1/4-mile track which host several world-class events every year. On Friday night its Grudge Racing, so you can bring your MS-powered car and race! We will get information on entry rules but from what I am told street cars are welcome! There is also high-end racing on Saturday so I am sure we will end up there as well later on Saturday to watch! Info on Maple Grove: http://www.maplegroveraceway.com/blog/?page_id=1280
There will be more to come in the next month as we pull the schedule together. We will have hotel information coming up in the next few weeks. This year should be a blast - a good reason for you to come out and enjoy the fun!

Information on the hotel for the 2010 MegaMeet. The best hotel that is centrally located is the Holiday Inn in Morgantown PA. The Morgantown Holliday Inn is about 10 minutes from Maple Grove (Mohnton PA), 1 hour from Carlisle and 30 minutes from the meet in Boyertown PA. There is also a spacious parking lot and it is located right off the PA. turnpike.

We have a block of room allocated to us at a nightly rate of US$89.00 - ask for the group "MEGAMEET" when booking. Its the busy time of year for this area so it is suggested to call and book early if possible. There are plenty of rooms right now but that could change.
Address:
Holiday Inn Morgantown
6170 Morgantown Rd.
Morgantown, PA 19543
Front Desk: 1-610-286-3000/Fax: 1-610-286-0520
GPS alternates (in case the above does not load in your GPS):
- 230 Cherry Lane, Morgantown, PA
- 40°09'34.07"N 75°53'30.18"W
- 40°09.567'N 75°53.503'W
- Pennsylvania Turnpike Exit 298
We are coming up with a final "where-to-be" plan for Friday and Saturday, but here is the tentative schedule:
- Friday AM and Afternoon - Cars at Carlisle GM Meet in Carlisle PA... you can get virtually any car part at one of these events! Or even purchase a car!
- Friday PM - Maple Grove Raceway... bring your car to race!
- Saturday AM and afternoon - Advanced Electronics Assembly, 320 S. Franklin Street, Boyertown PA (http://www.efisource.com)... this is the main Megameet location, will have demos on electronic assembly and this is where we will have the general MS talks and discussions.
- Saturday PM - dinner (TBD). And maybe back to Maple Grove later on to watch the really fast cars!
As you can tell there is a lot going on, and it is spread all over the place, so be sure you have good transportation. There is a lot to see in PA and this is in theheart of it all. If there is time you can go off to other nearby places like Hershey or Lancaster... even Intercourse PA is close by...
More info to come in the next few weeks!

I drive the highway connecting the two just about every day. I often drive past http://www.performancespecialties.com.
It is between my present home and Moms house.
My school would compete with the Boyertown Bears. I never knew this place existed. http://www.efisource.com
My friends love Maple Grove.Friday PM - Maple Grove Raceway... bring your car to race!
I V3.0'ed and running the MSnE1 on my car since last spring. I learned more than I could possibbly imagine. Nobody quite understands me now when I try to explain what actually is running my car.this is the perfect venue for people like ourselves to learn more about how its done
......and to think I had to solder mine all together all by myself...They are going to open the doors (this one time only) to show you exactly how PCB
Er, Well then. Er, hmmm. O.K. I was just getting a broke down car to run. It runs now. I might just have to drop by.....
