Subaru COPs wiring?

Post by GS guy »

I'm wiring up to run OEM Subaru COPs directly from an EDIS-4 ignition module.

Looking for wiring information/pinouts for the COPs. Do they require any specific terminals to be positive and negative? Is there a way I can determine which pins/wires need to be which? These are 2-wire COPs and neither wire is common with engine ground (through the COP).

FYI there is one wire from each COP that is the same color and stripe pattern, so this would seem to be a common of some sort - but not sure if it was power or ground?

Does it matter which way they are wired (ie: which side is +, which is -)?

Thanks,
Jeff

If you have year make and model the coils came from I can pull a wiring diagram and that should clear things up.

If you dont have that info, coils are usually controlled through the ground side which would make the common wires positive.

Coils do have a positive and negative, and yes they work better when wired correctly.
