vauxhall ecu to megasquirt

Post by Deo »

Hi all I am new to this forum this is my first post so be patient and helpful please !
I am considiring to run a megasquirt on my (Opel/Vauxhall/chevy) Corsa B 1.6 16v (x16xe) its already got a piggypack which it didn't helped the situation* I got in my Car. So basically it has an Ac Delco (multec) ecu and I was considering using the case of the ecu (I do have a spare one) to build the megasuirt board inside or atleast use the wiring that is already in the car without cutting or any thing. From what I read many gm sensors are direct compatable with megasquirt and it has an idle valve with 3 wires. So did somebody did a megasquirt conversion to this type of engine/car or any wiring diagram that can help me. Thanks..

* current situation is that car is lump at idle due to bigger cams and needs a raise in rev limit.

Unless you're a very experienced constructor and it's a 'classic' or whatever where looking original is important, building the MS into another case isn't as easy as it sounds. For example the MS case forms part of the heat sink for the various power transistors. And if you use a standard MS, using an adaptor between MS and the standard loom plug just introduces more possible problems.

I'd get a secondhand engine loom and modify that for the MS. The worse scenario is modifying a loom in situ. It needs to be done under the most favourable conditions where it's easy to work on and see.

A large number of problems you see hear are caused by poor wiring.
