The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.
Forum rules Read the manual to see if your question is answered there before posting. Many users will not reply if the answer is already available in the manual.
If your question is about troubleshooting, configuration, or tuning, you MUST include your processor type (MS-I or MS-II) and code version in your post. If your question is about PCB assembly or modifications, you must also include the main board version number (1.01, 2.2 or 3.0).
I have corrected the table (newbie mistake) and I will try it again tomorrow. I have checked all the connections to megasquirt and everything checked out. I did change the spark dwell to 1.5 MS as suggested but a writeup on DIYAutoTune about TPI and megasquirt. Also I did have my ignition set to "rising edge" for the capture and I changed it earlier today (as in the write up) and it still had the same problem. Could that have fried something in megasquirt? also I am going to run a direct wire to coil and see maybe its not getting enough current or maybe a bad ground. I tested it earlier but after reading more it maybe a problem in the ignition switched positive. Thanks for all the help so far. I know Im close!!....not really.
Well nothing fixed it. It does idle but still extremly unstable. I messed with everything. Engine however is getting up close to 200F and it never got that close because I have a 160 thermostat. I know its curculating but it seems like its running hot but the Fuel ratio is about 14-15 but thats off the back of the turbo in the down pipe. I unpluged some of my injectors while the engine was running and a few didn't make any difference to the engine RPM. I wonder if on of my injectors is stuck closed and it limits the fuel on all the other cylinders causing them to lean and get the engine hot, compensation for the 14.7 goal afr???? maybe??
ya I'll check it tomorrow but its not running rich and getting super hot. I'm going to pull the fuel pump fuse and run it on starter fluid at the throttle body. if it runs smooth that will tell me on of the injectors or more are stuck closed. they are a brand new set of ford racing 80lb. I think denso makes them. black with blue on them. I'll let you know if anything works. Thanks matt for all your help. hopefully I get this thing running soon.
