96' Honda B18B Megasquirt-2 V3.0- Anyone?

Post by GNdan »

Well as the title says after having great luck using MS3 on my Grand National, a good friend of mine decided that this is the way that he would like to go for engine management on his 1996 Honda B18B turbo engine project, the engine came from a donor 96' Acura Integra LS. I have looked around quite a bit and there seems to be limited information about MS installs on this engine on the forums, which is not new to me since no one did a MS3 on a GN when I built mine. What i did find online was at DIYAutoTune.com they have info listed "http://www.DIYAutoTune.com/tech_article ... _acura.htm" which calls out the correct vehicle year but not the B18B only the B18C. I would believe that the two engines use the same sensors and the distributor pickup wiring is the same just one has the extra VTEC controls in it since the B18C is a VTEC, is this correct so I could just follow the build and hook-up directions leaving out the wiring for VTEC?

Thanks In Advance, Dan

I have a 1993 prelude H22a VTEC motor OBD1 distributor and i am aiming to get either MS2 v3 or MS2 v3.57. Because the H22 motor is VTEC, should i get the MS2 v3 so that I can add the VTEC control circuit to MS2v3. I dont think I can add the VTEC control circuit to MS2v3.57? please help me answer this. I read all sort of megasquirt webpage and pdf and there no direct answer...that why i ask here.

I want to go coil per plug using the megasquirt ms2 v3 or v3.57 with the stock sensor in the distributor. I think that is fine right? confirm pleae. Megasquirt informations are very conflicting and confusing.

VTEC control just uses a regular on-off output.

The VTEC solenoid takes 12 volts, not ground, so we typically recommend using a relay to supply 12 volts.
