O2 sensor out of limits msg
The A/F gauge then stays red and the needle stops moving, staying at the highest reading, no matter how long I drive for.
If I close and re-start the programme, I get a “recalibrating O2 sensor” message. It doesn’t seem to recalibrate though, however I can do a manual recalibrate.
The only way to reset the programme seems to be by re-starting the laptop.
Any suggestions please? This is really getting in the way of my fun!
Other then this small glitch, very usable program and highly recommended.
Andy

Re: O2 sensor out of limits msg
while the min and max have not been found yet because they are too close to normal running range it will say it is calibrating, this should normally only be for a flash on a running engine, on a stim you would see them longer.
So, those have nothing to do with the reading of your AFR gauge, or calibration of the AFR table under the Tools menu, they would only be reacting to the values your AFR gauge is displaying.
There seems to be some other issue going on here. This only happens with Auto Tune running? Even after restarting the program your AFR doesn't read right?
That doesn't seem right. Are your other gauges reading right?
Is it rebooting the laptop that fixes it, or power cycling the WB Controller or MS?

All the other gauges read right, whether on the VE Live page or the Gauge page, all except the AF gauge.
Not sure! I obviously pull over when switching the laptop off and on and I think I've turned off the engine each time too. I do shut down VE Live then the programme. But that only gets me to the “recalibrating O2 sensor” stage.
I'm not even sure if the programme stops analysing, the fuel table cells still show activity, as if it's still functioning!
I'm on a club run tomorrow, (the car certainly runs well enough for that!), so will spend some time being more methodical in what I do to reset the programme.
Hasten to add that I'm very pleased with it, both the MS and TunerStudio. Very easy to use.
Thanks

Re: O2 sensor out of limits msg
Had the "O2 sensor out of limits msg" from the start of the drive, so tried (in order) re-starting the programme, re-starting the laptop and then switching the MS off while the computer was turned off.
Nothing worked, the best I could get was “sensor recalibrating” without it actually recalibrating!
I then shut down the laptop and just enjoyed the drive, then after about an hour, I tried using Tunerstudio again and it worked fine, the msg had gone and it was autotuning.
Then I had a mad moment and gave the car some hard acceleration and WOT, the msg returned. I then again shut the laptop down and returned home.
While the programme was working properly, it tuned the car well, whilst the “out of limits” msg was showing, the tune felt like it was going “off”, which is why I started shutting the laptop off, didn't want the map degraded.
Thanks
Andy

Re: O2 sensor out of limits msg
It sounds like it is a symptom of your WB sensor going off.

It's less then 50 miles old!
I'll try a full fresh air calibration and reset, see if that helps.
I'll let you know how I get on.
Thanks

No, the AFR gauge needle stays as far in the red as it can go.

Re: O2 sensor out of limits msg
Yeah, that would do it... It seems to be not working for some reason. What kind of controller is it?No, the AFR gauge needle stays as far in the red as it can go.
Is it reading full rich, or full lean?
TS won't run VE Analyze if the sensor is not active and in range, this is to protect against sending your tune way out of wack if the sensor isn't functioning properly.

Re: O2 sensor out of limits msg
It's reading too rich, dial lights up red.
Doesn't do it all the time, seems to be only after a WOT moment.

Re: O2 sensor out of limits msg
I had one that behaved similar, went out when I went to WOT. As long as the Controller is OK you can pick up a new sensor in the local auto parts store. It is a VW part- number. 021-906-262-B
