How to turn off Injector test mode?

For discussing Phil Tobin's TunerStudio MS is the MegaSquirt edition of TunerStudio, a next generation tuning application. It provides the ability to configure and tune all MegaSquirt controllers and is 100% compatible with MegaTune ini files and msq's.

How to turn off Injector test mode?

Post by johnTransam »

It sounds like a simple question, but I can not turn off the injector test mode. I burn the controller for normal injector, but it does not take the command. Everytime I reboot it is in the test mode and I can not over write it. Any thoughts?

If you open the test mode dialog, does it say 12345?

That should be all there is to it, set it to normal, click burn, then power cycle the Controller.

I take it that isn't working?

jT,

There was a fix to the injector test code for 2.900. The fix in noted in the revisions here: http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/revisions.htm You can read about a work-around with older codes at the bottom of the page here: http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/injectortest.htm

However, if this was mine, I would change up to the fixed 2.905 code: http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/code.htm

Well, I tried to update to 2.9 to solve my problems. Things went as expected until step 10. Even though I have check my com port and speed to match, I can no longer connect to Megasquirt. For Tunerstudio, I do not see how to check to see if it using mtcfg.exe?
Any help would be appreciated.

TunerStudio would never use that?

Make sure there is no other app open that might have that port locked, like the update utility or a MegaTune / MegaTune Utility.

Try talking to it via the Mini-Term in TunerStudio. Open the right port at 115200 and see if you get a response to a Q or S

OK. When I used mini term, I had wierd characters return when I type a "S". Therefore, I re-upload firmware version 2.905 and now it works. I do not know why, I didn't do anything differently. Now on to my ignition problems. Thanks for all the help.
