error when i open TS. econfiguration options/settings?

what the heck?
dont know why it started but all of a sudden it says

problem loading project.
reported error:
peojct corrupt, no configuration options found.

then i click 'ok'

then
would you like to update controller econfiguration file?
yes / no

this happens with or with out the megasquirt connected. if i click no, nothing happens and nothing loads. if i click yes i have to browse my comp for a 'econfig' file.

is this a TS problem, or a problem TS has picked up, for some reason [?], from my megasquirt?

i cant seem to use megatune with my usb/serial adaptor, coz the needles just go nuts, TS works fine, well, did...

It sounds like your project got corrupt.

Try opening and when you get prompted to update the controller ini, click no.

Then create new project. On the menu:

File --> Project - New Project

That is an odd one. You should always have write privileges to that file as it is in your home directory.

If you go to it in Explorer, are you able to edit it with a text editor, or even just rename it?

Are you getting this error on start up, or is it on close?

Hmm... and i cant hold the connection to MS..

Do you mean it is dropping comms and disconnecting from the MS while the MS is still running?
Does this happen always, or just while the engine is running?

it is comning when i start TS.

the connection drops when i trying to start my motorcycle and i cant get it back again, i´ve have read in this forum that it can be some problem with the usb cable, so i´m going to try with a longer DB9 cable instead..

Explorer is Windows normal file browser. That is where you will see things like your C:\ drive and can browse to where you have saved files on your computer.

Yes, if it is dropping when you start the bike, that is pretty much always a problem with your cable. Make sure you have a 3' or less, well shielded USB cable and if you need more length use a normal Serial cable.

I have tried to change the porperties for that directery, but it dosent help, is there a place where i can but another place TS can save these file...?

Are you not able to delete that file or rename that file? What error message do you get?

That is against the rules... As that is your home dir, you are the owner of it and must have rights to it or you will have all sorts of problems with many apps.

The one way you can use a different dir is if you log in as a different user.

okay Phil..

First problem solvoed, I´ve had some virus on my computer, and after that the computer have never been the same, lots of my picture was gone and so with some of my files, but i´ve changed some settings and bang the was there igain, and about the acces for the TS user map, there was writting protection on for that file, so now this is working...

Next problem..

It says: Error loading controller configuration file, and then it ask if i want to update my controller econfiguration file..

I can not find the right file, where can i find it...?
