VE Live tunning question

For discussing Phil Tobin's TunerStudio MS is the MegaSquirt edition of TunerStudio, a next generation tuning application. It provides the ability to configure and tune all MegaSquirt controllers and is 100% compatible with MegaTune ini files and msq's.

VE Live tunning question

Post by 904svo »

When VE live is turn on does it use 2.5 volts as 14.7 AFR? The reason I ask this is INNOVATE0_5_LINEAR uses 2.35 volts as 14.7 AFR when I try to tune my engine the AFR is always adjust it rich and stop there. I I manual change the VE table to make it 14.7 then turn on VE Live it
puts it back to rich.

Nope, it uses the AFR Target table assigned on the Advanced Tab.

Sorry to piggyback on this, but I think my question is similar.

Does VE Live require EGO control to be enabled or does it just compare the AFR target table with the actual AFR and adjust accordingly? My wideband is setup, but I don't have the EGO control enabled at this time.

Thanks,
Robert

It uses both ego correction and afr / O2, so ego correction is not required.

With a narrow band, ego correction is recommended to have on.

I'm getting "O2 out of range" most of the time. Any idea what might be the cause? Thanks!

I should probably mention that I'm roughing out a new VE table, so AFRs might be a little wonky at first. In the olden days I would have gotten it close by hand (which I have) and then do a few logging runs by driving up and down the street and then feeding the logs into the VE analysis thing in MLV. I think I'm doing the same thing now with the VE Live function, but hopefully at a much faster rate. Thanks again for your help!

You should only see O2 out of range if it is not actively reading. Does your afr gauge appear to be reading right?

Because the table is still rough there were times when it was either max lean or max rich, so that would make sense... However, even when the gauge was in the normal range, it was still reading O2 out of range. I found another post that talked about disabling the deadlambda entries in the ini file, so I'll see if that allows me to rough in the table. I'll reenable it once the table is closer to being done. Thanks!
