losing 12 deg of timing every other second at idle

Post by Army of Six »

MS II 3.0 2.905

i finally got my motor fired up with a junkyard distributor. it had a rough idle so i data logged it and for some reason the timing is jumping erratically back and forth from 15.8 to 3.8 When i watch the timing table its rock steady in between 2 cells. both cells and all the surrounding cells are all approx 15.7 ish degrees. the trigger offset is 10 deg. in tuner studios like i mentioned, the table shows a steady dot in between to cells but the gauge in the instrument cluster is jumping from 15.7 to 3.7 deg. any ideas what would cause this. i searched the forums but didnt find anything.

attached is the data log. it gets an idle at 1931.000s

thank you,
Vic

i just swapped out the junkyard ignition module with the new ebay distributor ign module thinking...hoping it was a bad module but it is still doing the same thing with both ignition modules. :(
