That is the drawing I am referencing. It shows pin37 as +12(from switch) and pin 19 as ecu ground. Are you saying I should also ground pins 8,9,10,and 11? Keep in mind this is an off the car test. I am using the wall wart for power. I have functional RPM with the Stim but the directions say this is not truly functional with VR sensor and the Stim yet. I want to verify I have a good square wave.

Please don't change the subject of this thread. I know about the VR wave shape and the ECU will take what it needs. What I am trying to do is test this out of car.trakkies wrote:A VR sensor produces a (near) sine wave. If you want a square wave you'll need a hall effect type.

Incorrect.....It shows pin37 as +12(from switch) and pin 19 as ecu ground.
+12v to pin 28 and ground to pin 19, will do it.....

Bear with me and we will get there.......
Using the link that Matt provided (the second drawing)...........
Start at the battery + terminal
follow the red line, through the 20 amp fuse, to the arm of the main relay
the red line continues on the other side of the relay and goes to a junction
turn left and go through the 2 amp fuse to pin 28
I can tell you, without equivocation,that ALL v3 (and 2.2 I am almost sure) boards get their power on pin 28!

That is to say, that battery voltage is always applied to pin 28 on either board version.

I finally got it. I was focused on the wrong relay and seeing only the circuit from the switch to relay to pin 37. Once I saw the other relay as the "Main" relay it sunk in.
