I think we will need to know a bit more about your car. ie. year, make, engine, etc

That certainly helps. Since I'm not an MSD kind of guy, you'll have to wait for one of the MSD experts to drop by.

Sorry...........

Even though I'm not familiar with your MSD distributor, maybe we can figure this out, but we'll need some additional information.

What version (processor, board, firmware etc.) MS are you connecting this to?
What type of coil do you plan to control?
What kind of sensor is installed in the MSD distributor?
Which pins are the black and white wires in your picture currently connected to on the MS?
Have you read the ignition section of the manual that applies to your particular version of MS?

There's a couple things missing from your answers.

1. What board and firmware are on the MS2?
2. What SENSOR is in the MSD distributor? The distributor cap would not have a sensor.

Ok, I was looking for "Magnetic pickup." The documentation calls this a VR sensor. Jumper it for VR input and connect the black and white wires to the sensor output. They can go either way, depending on what Ignition Input Capture you use. Either one will get an RPM, but only one will get a stable timing signal.

so off the disturber there is a orange/black and off the msd box its purple/green, on the mds the green is negative and the purple is postive.
when you plug them in to each other it go
(dis)orange-(msd)purple would be the wight wire off ms
(dis)purple-(msd)green would be the black wire off ms
so on the ms wiring harness i would put the black wire to the green/purple wire and the wight on to the orange/purple.
