Symptom of failing 2-wire PWM idle valve?

Post by gofastant »

Hi,

I have 3 bosch 2-wire idle valves. 1 does not respond at all, must be dead. 1 is inverted and the 3rd is normal. They were all built for the mk2 VW Corrado.

I'm using the normal curve unit right now and it hasn't been a long time on the MS but it has started to not go to cranking position at start-up. It seems to stay in the last running position. It will open up to the cold running state eventually. Has anyone experienced this?

I'd try oiling the valve first.

Doh! It wasn't sticking, it's just that the crank-to-run time has no effect. After it starts it goes straight to run position. I created a different topic for this issue:
