MS2 V3.0 NO VR SIGNAL

Post by azaad »

Hello All,

The last i remember my VR circuit working i had the mod below.

"Install a 1k resistor between the right side (non-band) end of D1 and the left leg (banded end) of D9. This is for a 12V pull-up. Note: the "side" is critical here."

this was to run Toyota VAST ignition....

now i am not getting no VR signal from the board....i tried using the MS1 chip...same thing.

NB: when i take a any metal object and touch the TSel pin...D14 flashes as though its getting a rmp..

I am using a stimulator to do these tests.

Thanks.

Part of the problem is that D1 is part of the OPTO circuit; installing a pull-up resistor is consistent with using the OPTO as an input for a Hall or other square-edge DC signal.

The VR signal is AC, not DC, and should be filtered through the VR circuit. Move the jumper on TachSelect from OptoIn to VRin; move the jumper on TSel from OptoOut to VROut (MS2) or VROutInv (MS1).

This is what i have as my jumpers right now. Is it suppose to work a the stim? cuz i am not getting increasing RMP on the stim.

Yeah, a basic stim pretty much ONLY works with the opto circuit.

Are these both installed on the same car?
