skipping engine cycles
Just curious to find out if there is a possibility of tweaking the code, in such a way to enable "SKIP FIRING", ie to skip a fixed number of engine cycles. For example, skip 14 cycles and enable fuel injection and spark ignition at every 15th cycle alone.
I understand that the Rev Limiter tab in the MS Tuner Studio can be used as a method to cut "14 sparks out of every 15 sparks". How about the fuel injection?
Thank you very much in advance, for any suggestions.

Re: skipping engine cycles
I believe that's what I have described in a short paragraph.
Do you have some solution to offer, to achieve skip firing using megasquirt?

My apologies for offending you! Since I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, I was merely trying to clarify in my own mind what you were going to use, what you describe as "skip firing", for! I freely admit that my question was prompted by my own selfish need for self edification. I shan't bother you again!vishnu wrote:Ken,

Again, my apologies!

Thanks Matt. Yes, I'm trying to insert a loop which counts the number of cam trigger pulses and then sends it to the injector, when the condition satisfies to be true.Matt Cramer wrote:You'd have to write your own modifications to the firmware to do this.
