Microsquirt not connecting

Post by TW5.3 »

Basically, I have a brand new microsquirt on a 99 5.3l engine.

Wired up, I think lol.

Had several issues with the drivers for my usb to serial cable, Windows says it's updated - but cannot connect to TS.

Any tips other than those on the main pages?

It is a cheap cable, I have ordered another better one. I also ordered a pcie serial cars to eliminate all possibilities.

Do I have to load firmware? This is my first experience with any ms product

MicroSquirts generally ship with firmware.

What happens if you try Port Check?

For my Microsquirt I need to do this sometimes in TunerStudio:

- go to "Communications" and click "Settings

- now make sure the Microsquirt is powered on

- click "Detect" and see if it comes up, and if it does click "Accept"

For me it seems to be 50/50 if it finds the MS when I first plug into my laptop. Sometimes I need to do the above method, but always connects after that. Im using a UC232a serial to USB cable and whatever driver they have on their website for it.

That should work. Sorry, not familiar with that USB adapter.
