Editing Datalogs

Post by Gman »

I'd like to trim down the size of some of my datalogs, to include only records of interest. Is there an easy way to do that?

Multiple ways.
You canopen the log in a text editor and delete any rows you want to get rid of.

If you have a registered version of MegaLogViewer it is easier.
Then you can set the cursor to a start point, right click and select:
Log Editing --> Delete Before Cursor

Then move the cursor to the place you want to end, right click and select:
Log Editing --> Delete After Cursor

Then you can save what is still there to a file by selecting :

File --> Export Loaded Log File As

Thank you! I find that Wordpad with wrap turned off works pretty well, however it is annoying that it appends the .txt type to the filename when using "save as." So it is better to make a copy of the file and rename it first, then edit and use "save."
