Wiring TPS +5V ref wire

Wiring TPS +5V ref wire

Hello,

As I am completing the wiring on my MS II, I came across something that did not seem to make too much sense to me.

Background info: 4.3 TBI used in Suzuki Samurai with TH350.

I noticed in the wiring diagram the +5V ref wire for the TPS also goes to the hall sensor.
Question 1) Both the hall sensor and TPS are supposed to connect to this wire in my harness?
Question 2) I have a GM 4.3 TBI which uses a VR distributor, then an 8 pin connector which converts the signal to the square wave, I wired the circuit in MS II for the hall/optical circuit. Do I hook this wire up as it is in the diagram for the hall or the VR?
Question 3) Also I am not exactly sure what it means when the diagram depicts the wire looping around another wire?

1) The 5v to the hall sensor and TPS is merely a power supply. Neither take much current, so sharing the same circuit is OK. Just how you wire them to the same supply depends on their layout - it doesn't really matter.

2) A VR sensor produces an approx sine wave, which is quite tricky to convert to digits the processor can read. But since you have a square wave output from your dizzy, either the opto or VR input will be fine. It's convention these days to use the VR input for the engine tach signal - leaving the opto for the much simpler cam signal if needed later.

3) That wire loop usually represents a screen (shield)
