Can't stay connected with TS

LT401Vette, Thanks for the repy. I've tried three cables. I'll look for another laptop/pc to rule out whether the problem is with my laptop. If the problem still exists with a different computer then back to trying another cable. WisAndy

I have some good news. I obtained an FTDI adapter that converts a USB port into an RS232 port. I connected to the car today without any drop outs. I had the FTDI adapter plugged into the laptop and one of my existing serial cables from the adapter to MS.

At this point it looks as though the real serial port on my laptop could not perform adequately in this case.

Glad to hear it!
Usually nothing beats a real serial port, but those can break too.
Besides these days the USB to serial cables fianlly do work as well with a good one.
