Tach-wire BMW E30

Post by Vezzel 309 GTI16 »

We have MegaSquirted (2.2 with Xtra-code) a BMW E30 2,7, but the original tachometer got its signal from the now removed Motronic box.
Can i just hook the tachometer directly to the negative side of the ignition coil?

easy for you to say.

I run MS2, so i dont have tacho pin out (AFAIK)

basically i need to know what kind of signal e30 tacho needs. is it +ve every TDC or every single crank revolution or what.... or is it getting grounded or d'oh! ?
