I have one EDIS 8 module with its contact. The contact has been cut off from the loom with just 50 mm ends .
Woud like to open the contact , get the pins out and solder on longer wires and reassemble the contact, so as not have to splice on to the new loom.
Does anybody have some tips how to open the contact assembly without
doing any damage to it ?

Any help will be much appreciated .

Thanks

Look into the end of the conector, there is a red insert, on the outer end of the insert there are small rectangular holes, you insert a small flat tip screw driver and pry out on the red insert, alternating ends to get ti out even, once the insert is out, you will see small tabs that hold the pins in, pry out slighlty with jewelers screwdriver and pull the pin out through the back. Don't pry on the tab holding the pin in too much or it may break.

You can cut the wire flush with the socket and solder a new wire to the top side of the socket. Install some heat shrink over the connection. insert the pins back onto the connector from the back, once all the pins are installed push the red insert back in to hold the sockets in place.
