so i know i need to install the pwm diode (1N4001) "inline" with my iac (msII v3.0). if i do it under the engine bay, how is the best way to do it? solder it to the two lines?

would it be possible to just put it solely on the ground wire? this way i could have it contained in the cabin. something like this...?

IAC -----------+12v
|
|
L------------DIODE------MS

rather than this...

IAC ----------+12v
| l
| DIODE
| l
L------------------MS

does anyone have a picture they might be able to share? thanks

rigdigitty,

The diode is wired in parallel with the IAC, you are showing a series circuit.

The "banded" end of the diode goes to the wire of the IAC that is hooked to 12v, the other goes to the wire hooked to MS.

Mine is installed in the engine bay adjacent to the IAC. Use heat shrink tubing to insulate as tape will get hot and fall off.
